MMORPGs have become an entirely different world, where multiplayer gaming platforms are getting a lot of attention from gamers. When we talk in terms of Amazon’s New World game, it’s interesting in many ways because of the immersive player base and content. It offers a conventional leveling system that makes it easy for users to follow up on the game’s features.

Similarly, most of the MMORPGs have warring factions, with players who possess the ability to choose a side and progress further in the gameplay, accordingly. In New World, there are a total of three factions wanting to take complete control over Aeternum. Players can choose between Ambitious Marauders, Mysterious Syndicates, and Zealous Covenants. It’s worth noting that every server has a varying dynamic when it comes to the factions controlling the regions, and this is primarily what influences players on which side or server to pick.

Joining A Faction

There are several reasons to join a faction, and it’s important to experience the entire content that the game has to offer. Once the player hits level 10, they are provided with a quest called ‘Commitment to the Cause’ from an NPC named Urbanus Bixford, and that’s when you are required to align with a faction. In every region, you will come across hamlets who control it while representing their respective factions, and they are happy to share their knowledge among every joining character.

You need to keep in mind the following points prior to joining a faction – how influential, useful, or powerful it is with respect to the character. The territories that each faction controls constantly change, and the membership of the character determines whether he or she will be able to fish, farm, or hunt in those controlled areas. In simpler words, Aeternum has a different look in every server of New Word, so your choice depends on the choice of server.

Control Points

Every territory on a server has a fort, which functions as the base point for the region. The world map indicates which faction controls the forts, or which ones are contested. For faster control over a fort or region, several players from a faction should be there to represent their hold. You can only enter a fort by toggling through the ‘u’ key, which flags the player for PVP.

Dominating faction players are provided with a 5% EXP bonus while leveling and a 20% to their influential gain within the dominated territory. Besides that, players have access to rewards, quests, special items, etc., by making friends on high reputed grounds of the game.

Declaring War

Declaring war in New World is a complicated process. It initially starts with a Company (Guild), which declares war on a territory. It’s worth noting that there are a total of 12 territories that make up the cast island in Aeternum, and you can only declare war on a territory that’s in conflict. This entirely depends on the opposing faction, as well as the influence (reputation).

Conflict only occurs when an opposing faction has achieved 100% influence in the territory, which is usually done through PVP missions. A war is about taking over the enemy’s fort with the help of siege engines, cannons, and several other means to achieve the end goal.

Special Gear

Factions are only about completing tasks or PVP events because players can also enjoy various other perks that depend on the faction they pick. This includes the currency for purchasing new equipment and other accessories. As you advance in rank respective to your faction, you can unlock and purchase better equipment from the faction’s shop.

Every faction offers different equipment sets that can be bought by players through their respective faction’s currency, and the currency can be earned through faction-specific quests. Honestly, most are PVP-related, but there are others like exploring new areas or collecting resources.

The Factions

The Covenant

Covenant faction rose from the battle of the muddy beach to determine their goodwill to the world in this New World Faction Guide. This faction is for players who wish to seek after their future as a warrior and fight back the corruption in New World. It’s significant for players who play as good characters in RPGs, and are willing to purge and cleanse the lands holding mysterious powers.

Their faction colors are Gold, Orange, and Yellow. The lower tier rank is Initiate, and then comes Templar, Excubitor, Lumen, Adjudicator, and finally, Inquisitor.

The Syndicate

Knowledge holds more power over ‘power’ itself. Money, reputation, and prestige also play a vital role, and that’s primarily why Syndicates center around Focus and Intelligence, one of the new world’s best factions. These are the two abilities that govern the utilization of magical items, which also means that Syndicates are magic users, but players can always intend to other builds too. While every faction requires specific quest completion prior to joining, Syndicate provides a set of them to follow as a part of the tier 1 rank process. Every tier also has a different trial, and these trials are often level 20 or above.

Their faction colors are Purple, White, and Blue. The lower tier rank is Adepts, and then comes Scrivener, Chronicler, Cabalist, and finally, Alchemists.

The Marauders

Marauders can only see the path of utilizing Aeternum for personal and commercial gain, which means that this faction focuses on magical knowledge, real estate, land offerings, natural resources, etc in this New World Faction Guide. Marauders require players to reach a specific reputation cap before undertaking the trial for their initial rank, and they are quite strict about it. There aren’t any rules, missions, or quests, just a simple shoot, burn, and build kind of scenario.

Their faction color is Green but in varying shades. The lower tier rank is Soldier, and then comes Gladiator, Ravager, Destroyer, Commander, and finally, Legatus.
