Moving through the Chamber of Xeric is not an easy task! Because at the end lies the Great Olm, who is a dreadful beast waiting to vanquish those who try to enter its lair. Did we scare you too much? Don’t worry, our guide will help you through.

So, who or what is the Great Olm?

For those who are new to the game, the Great Olm is the final boss in the Chambers of Xeric raid. It is also called the Guardian in the Deep, a large white salamander with powerful abilities to take down its foe.

And, what is the Chamber of Xeric?

It is a dungeon located under Mount Quidamortem and is inhabited by the Great Olm. The underground passage was built by Xeric in the Kebos Lowland and was brought into existence with the game update in early 2017.

You can access the chambers through the Lavakengj Minecart system. But you’ll first need to get the Minecart Control Scroll from Miriam, along with 65% Lovakengj favor.

Alternatively, you can get there by heading west from the Shayzien’s Wall and straight to Mount Quidamortem. But be careful if you use this passage because there are several Lizardmen waiting to hunt you down.

How to defeat the Great Olm?

You only have to defeat three phases of the Great Olm if you’re a solo player, or in a team of seven. You cannot leave the battle in middle, so you need to ensure that you have the right equipment and supplies beforehand.

The fight will begin with Olm on either west or east side. He’ll start with Fire, Acid, or Crystal attack abilities. The objective is to disable his hands and move on to the next phase.

If you’re using melee, attack his left hand, and if you’re using Magic, go for the right. The focus should remain throughout the fight because one small mistake and you’ll end up dead. DO NOT attack his head until the final phase starts.

Fire attacks have the highest damage output so you need to be careful. Make sure you have water spells on you to quickly escape, or you’ll be affected by a teleport attack.

While attacking the left hand, if he clenches them, then it means that he cannot use any special attacks on you. At the same time, he is also unable to take any damage.

If you’re playing solo, look for blind spots by running into particular areas. You’ll see that Olm’s head follows you around, thus delaying his attacks. You can use this tactic during lightning attacks to cancel out the attack that’s followed. Keep practicing!

As your progress onto the next phase, Olm will disappear underground and start shaking the cave. This will cause crystals to fall from above. You can avoid them through the shadows on the ground, indicating where they’re exactly about to land.

Moving ahead, you’ll need to disable both his arms to reach the next phase. Start by disabling one hand, after which a progress bar will appear on your screen, indicating that you have to disable the second one before it fills up.

In the final phase, you have to start attacking its head which no longer has any regenerating abilities. Olm will go back to the starting mechanics minus the teleporting attacks.

You can avoid the sapping attacks by standing on the tiles on which the blue projectiles land. The best approach for the final phase is to keep moving around between attacks.

Conclusion

Finally, you can grab your reward for the amazing job you did. So, we’ve covered everything there is to know about the Great Olm, and we hope our guide will give you a good sense of what you’re about the approach in the Chambers of Xeric. Good luck!
